All of you at Fox Grove Farm are awesome! Again, the moment I crossed through the student gates I was transported into a little girl’s dream. The amazing thing is that it was experienced by a little girl in a grown-up’s body! From the various styles of lessons given by Cyril and Lynn, to the wonderful cross-section of people, to the incredible horses we got to ride, to the delicious meals, to tales around the campfire and late nights with my “roomies”, to getting to snuggle with all the dogs … I loved it all. Once again, thank you for helping to make this little girl’s dream a reality. With fondest regards, Lisa R Ontario, Canada
Dear Lynn, Cyril and Marie-Frances, I just wanted to take some time to thank you again for a wonderful weekend. I had a blast! Having an opportunity to ride the course and then taking part in the clinic was hands-down, money well spent. I felt like even if I didn’t ride well in the challenge that I had gained so much already. I appreciate how both Lynn and Cyril were honest in their assessments and provided clear instructions on how to resolve any issues on the course. From the time we entered the gate to the time we pulled out, everyone was very friendly, helpful and sincerely positive. Even having the gentlemen cleaning the stalls, which is something I have never had in a clinic before, was a nice surprise and another example of the hospitality you all provided. Again, thank you for everything and I look forward to returning to your farm soon. Sincerely, Julie M Florida
Dear Cyril, It may surprise you to know that I have always believed you had the magic touch with me. Your language is very precise and that helps me remember the principles. I feel so fortunate to have been able to do both the private lesson and the clinic with you. I hope we can help you keep coming to California. This truly was a benchmark event. I feel you have given Monte and I the tools to make big strides in our horsemanship this year. Being able to talk about it together is great. Thank you for being such a great mentor. Hi Marie-Frances! What a great experience. Lynn is just AMAZING…and kind and patient and supportive…I could go on and on. She has a fan for life. I will definitely be registering for next year’s clinic at Gelinas Farm. That gives me a whole year to practice !! Stephanie D New Hampshire
HI Lynn and Cyril: I just had to call to share our great news. I took Sport to an all breeds horse show yesterday, Western, Ranch horse classes, hunter pleasure, open pleasure, racking horse classes, and games, pole bending, barrel racing etc. Sport and I entered in 2 divisions. We were in Adult Hunter Pleasure division, with a halter class and 2 under saddle classes with about 13-14 entries. I was too busy riding to count horses and write it all down. Sport was Champion and got First in Each Class. Then we went in an Adult Open Pleasure division (mixed breeds, Arabian, QH, and other, not gaited horses) with a Halter Class and 3 under saddle classes with about 14-16 entries in each class. Again Sport was Champion and won First in Each Class!!! They had a hack off for reserve champion between a nice QH and a nice large pony hunter in this division. By now I was sort of feeling guilty. I am sure I was the only one to have Trained at Palm Equestrian Academy!!! What an Advantage!! All of his canter-departs, from the trot or walk were the best we have ever done. He did not pull or elevate his head, and I guess I did not pull either. I rode him on light contact at all times with medium short reins. Then, I said "Well I might as well enter the open hunt seat equitation class" as Sport is behaving BEAUTIFULLY! ( MY INNER SQUIRREL WAS WITH ME). I thought, "I should be able to watch my equitation with out worrying about Sport as He was ahead of my legs, light in the bridle, and really trucking in the trot when asked and soft and flowing in the canter". "And all I had to do was hold my hands low and still and think of the transitions I want to do and ask softly" He did them all!! We had to do sitting trot, canter from the sitting trot, "2 Point" at the trot, Walk, Trot, Canter, and reverse at the trot. Well Low and Behold I won First in this class too out of 18. I have not won an equitation class in decades! Thanks again for all you have done for us!! Susan and Sport Virginia
Thank you! I sent Lynn a message on Facebook on Saturday. Your clinic was the best thing I have done in years. Already looking forward to doing it again next year! Kris and I rode last week ( and froze our fingers and toes) and were able to apply what we learned. Love, love, love Fox Grove Farm, the school horses, and of course, Lynn. She did such a great job with us. So good to meet you, Marie-Frances. Kathy K, Minnesota Hi, Lynn, Cyril, Marie-Frances, Thank you, All, for such a great weekend of hospitality, challenge and camaraderie. You guys are Great. Sincerely, Ellie C, Florida
